These wonderfully chaotic and tactile surf collages are the work of Owen Schmit. If you weren't familiar with the artist it might seem as though they were made in a grungy van by a sunburned acid casualty surf legend, but they weren't. They were made by a talented young lady from southern california who isn't much of a surfer, but the finds inspiration in this extreme sport. She has an art show with Paul Wackers opening July 30. Go see it. I don't know if she boogey boards or gets gnar on the aggressive in-lines, so you'll have to find out for yourself.
